Do drivers use their own vehicles?

Yes. Every driver is assessed in their own company vehicle, on real roads, in normal conditions. That is the point — we assess the drive they actually do, not a demonstration in a training car.

What does the company actually see?

Accepted Answer

Driving assessment findings by name, with the faults found and the actions agreed; a driving risk profile for the group across low, medium and high; a policy feedback report; and attendance, completion and training records. Where health screening is taken, you also receive anonymised health trends.

Do we see our drivers’ health results?

Accepted Answer

No. No individual health result is ever reported to the employer — no readings, no diagnoses, no names — and nothing is reported that could identify a driver within a small group. Health information is special category data under GDPR. It belongs to the driver.

What happens if a driver’s health results are serious?

Accepted Answer

Any driver whose results need urgent attention is told on the day, directed to their GP, and that advice is recorded. Your own driver policy is what requires them to notify you.

Do you declare a driver fit or unfit to drive?

No. We do not declare anyone fit or unfit to drive. That is a doctor’s call.

Can we take one module on its own?

Yes. Each module stands alone. The three together are what change the standard, and what deliver the most for the money.

What do we need to provide on the day?

The drivers’ own company vehicles, confirmed rosters and participation slots, and a named coordinator for scheduling. Drivewise brings the InBody analyser, the VALD testing equipment, the health coach and exercise professionals, the advanced driving instructors, and arranges the training venue.

What is Roadcraft?

Accepted Answer

Roadcraft is the system of car control used by the Garda Driving School and the emergency services: information, position, speed, gear and acceleration, applied to every hazard, in the same order, every time.

How long does the driving day take per driver?

The assessment drive runs to a set structure: 30 minutes assessing current driving and the implementation of Roadcraft skills, 10 minutes assessing Roadcraft, 20 minutes reinforcing Roadcraft skills, and 2 hours observing Roadcraft skills — followed by a coached drive and a written debrief.
